As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with our Gastroenterologists to provide direct patient care, perform new GI inpatient consultations, and communicate patient status and outcomes with PCPs.
Responsibilities include: •Obtaining detailed and accurate histories, performing physical examinations, identifying problems, recording information and interpreting information to determine a plan of care for patients •Dictating all aspects of patient visits through EMR •Rounding daily on the inpatient gastroenterology service at the hospital •Providing comprehensive care to outpatients in a professional, courteous, effective and prompt manner, as well as promptly addressing patient phone calls •Accommodating urgent problem visits and consults •Promptly communicating test results to patients in accordance with SMG guidelines •Communicating with Physicians, Supervisors, Manager and other personnel •Promote team atmosphere amongst colleagues and staff. Work effectively with staff •Assumes accountability for the quality of care, which he/she has delivered including maintaining standard precautions •Appropriately managing the administration and interpretation of breath testing •Performing in hospital rounds and consultations •Ensuring adherence to the supervisory agreement and state regulations •Handling other related functions as necessary
Requirements include: •1-year experience required; 2-4 years preferred •Nurse Practitioner License •BLS/ACLS Certification •Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing •Strong interpersonal and organization skills •Strong ability to perform diverse work assignments and make decisions with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy •Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and critical thinking skills •Proficiency in use of EMR including dictation and signing of notes •Ability to fulfill annual CME requirements We offer a competitive salary, dynamic work environment, and a comprehensive benefits package.
