Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
RN – Nurse Practitioner – PN Gastroenterology
In this role, you will provide medical evaluation and treatment to John Muir Health patients in collaboration with and under the direction of the Supervising Physician. You will perform duties in the in-patient and out-patient clinic setting, seeing patients and supporting the physicians for consultations, in-office procedures and clinical administrative tasks. As a NP, you will be a registered nurse who possesses additional preparation and skills in physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment, and management of health-illness needs. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients, as well as provide information to patients on health maintenance and disease prevention and counseling. In addition, you will provide healthcare in a collegial relationship with physicians to patients at John Muir Health facilities.
A graduate of an Accredited School of Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN or DNP)
Three years of experience in an Adult Nurse Practitioner role preferred
Three years post training experience, preferably with Gastroenterology, Hepatitis, and/or Inflammatory Bowel Disease preferred
A current California RN License
Nurse Practitioner License from the California Board of Registered Nursing
National Certification by recognized board – American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy
DEA license with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Prescribing privileges (NP furnishing license)
Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric illnesses including addictions
The ability to manage patient’s health and illness and to plan, organize, manage time, and prioritize work in collaboration with others
The ability to be self-directed and motivated, to work independently, and be part of a multidisciplinary team
The ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
