Job Summary:

· Provides supervision for the Bariatric requirements and insurance authorization process for all patients for �New� Patient Class, Letters of Medical Necessity, pre-op coordination.

· Oversees weekly Support Group meetings and nutrition classes and attends as needed.

· Updates SWL calendar for reflect appropriate surgeries and facing weekly to the appropriate floors. Monitoring calendar so that it is reflective of cancellations and additions.

· Assists in departmental hiring and training of new employees.

· Evaluates, counsels, and assists with termination in accordance with HR regulations, with the Bariatric manager.

· Models positive and professional behaviors to support a customer service environment.

· Monitors compliance with department standards, rules and regulations applicable to the bariatric program and will elevate any issues immediately to the bariatric program manager.

· Provided back up for manager for Kronos, absence approval forms, and Kronos adjustment forms.

· Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff.

· Provides back up for the monthly surgery reporting, as needed.

· Ability to provide oversight of databases and clinical outcomes data.

· Ability to documents, both in written and electronic formats, in a timely and complete manner.

· Communicates and demonstrates all operational changes to the staff.

· Demonstrates and supervises all staff competency in computer applications and helps when needed and will elevate training needs to manager.

· Responsible for bariatric program overview to prospective patients and explains surgery procedures, and provides back up to NPC presentation.

· Attends financial/operational meetings monthly with manager.

· Attends Bariatric Steering Committee meetings quarterly.

· Assists in all COE initiatives with the ASMBS/MBSQIP and responds to any REFI�s related to the bariatric continuum of care.

· Other duties assigned by the program medical director and bariatric program manager.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: RN, BS Healthcare Degree or equivalent

Minimum Experience: Licensed Healthcare Professional. American Heart BLS. One year Bariatric Program management experience preferred.

Preferred Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of medical terminology. Microsoft Word and Excel.
