Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Technician.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing patients with precise and accurate results for the purpose of infertility assessment and management under the supervision of the laboratory director or a licensed clinical laboratory technologist. The technologist is responsible for performing Andrology and Endocrinology services in accordance with the Andrology and Endocrinology Standard Operating Procedures Manual and for maintaining the laboratory in a continuous state of readiness for necessary regulatory agency inspections, and for ensuring that appropriate and competitive standards for laboratory operation are maintained at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as required.
- Study and review Andrology and Endocrinology Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures Manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services. Study and review OSHA requirements and ensure adherence.
- Responsible for performing laboratory procedures under supervision including semen analysis, sperm preparation for intrauterine insemination, semen cryopreservation. Perform hormone assays for infertility patients, participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs. Responsible for maintaining of quality control and quality assurance. Maintain supplies and inventory and act as department liaison for patient-related problems and reporting of patient results. Assist in ensuring operation of equipment by coordinating and overseeing the completion of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging repairs.
- Work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care, while meeting the objectives and goals of the practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Science
Current New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technician License.
Strong communication (both oral and written), critical thinking, data reporting, detail orientation, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills..
Required Licenses: Clinical Lab Technician-NYS, Clinical Lab Technician-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred.
1-2 years experience in Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
