Mount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking an Interventional Gastroenterologist!
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) is looking to expand its division and is seeking a Gastroenterologist with specialized training and experience in Interventional Endoscopy/Gastroenterology. We are recruiting for a full-time Interventional GI specialist to provide personalized comprehensive care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and a leadership role in our endoscopy unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high quality patient care for our patients requiring interventional endoscopy consultation, including appropriate advanced GI procedures with a focus on Interventional Gastroenterology.
Specific Job Responsibilities: In collaboration with Hospital Administration and the Chief of the Division, you agree to provide the following patient care services and administrative support:
Provide patient care services in the specialty of Interventional Gastroenterology/Gastroenterology not less than 40 hours per week during the term of the agreement.
Provide direct patient care services at the main Hospital campus and other locations.
Provide telephone medical consultation.
Participate in call coverage.
Provide care to any patients identified by the Hospital as eligible for free or reduced cost care at facilities owned or operated by the Hospital.
Perform other clinical care responsibilities as determined by the Chief of the Division.
Supporting educational aspects of the department Residency Program.
Support teaching and education within the Division.
Assist the Department as reasonably requested in implementing policies, procedures and methods of operation approved in advance by the Hospital, complying with and enforcing the bylaws, rules and regulations of the Hospital and its Medical Staff, as well as the standards set forth by the Joint Commission, the American Medical Association, and the American Hospital Associations, all as they apply to gastroenterology services at the Hospital.
Support the development of the high-quality Gastroenterology and Interventional Gastroenterology Programs.
As Director of Endoscopy, provide administrative support, as necessary for improving endoscopy services, efficiency, and quality of services through development of quality metrics, clinical practice guidelines and other initiatives as determined by the Chief of the Division.
Participate and support the development of an interventional endoscopy center at the Hospital and its outpatient centers.
Participate, support, and assist in establishing a Digestive Health Center as part of the Hospital and Health System.
These duties may be modified from time to time by your Chair/Director based on institutional needs.
Position Qualifications:
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York Medical License or able to obtain one
Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology
Completed an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship and an Interventional Fellowship
Areas of interest must include Interventional Gastroenterology training.
