WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 425 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. We are currently seeking physicians interested in joining our expanding gastroenterology group in a leadership capacity to serve areas such as Cary, Raleigh and North Raleigh. Our well established group offers comprehensive services to the community we serve. The Medical Director is responsible for local strategy, operational performance and appropriate development of their group/division. The Medical Director is responsible for leading their group in the development and execution of operational tactics to achieve the aspirational goals for the group; including but not limited to - quality, patient experience, clinical outcomes, financial outcomes, new services, regional development, referral development, clinical operations and medical staff interactions with the group. In their leadership role, the individual will work closely with other physician leaders, physicians, APPs, nursing, administration (WakeMed Physician Practices and system), recruiting, clinical and financial staff and marketing. The Medical Director will also serve in a clinical capacity providing quality care to the patients within the assigned division alongside our team of 5 physicians and 5 advance practice providers. Our group provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient consultative GI services. Responsibilities may include performing endoscopic and other gastroenterological procedures. Call is shared among the team. Training and experience with ERCP and EUS is a plus but not required. Must be currently Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Medical Specialty Board in Gastroenterology. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
