The community you’ll be caring for:
•AdventHealth East Orlando, a 265-bed community hospital, has been serving East Orlando residents since 1941 as an innovative local leader that fills a vital need in a fast-growing area
•A recent 200,000 square-foot expansion project upgraded the hospital to 265 beds, with a spacious patient tower and 80 new private rooms designed to enhance the holistic care experience
•Annual number of emergency cases: 89,018
The role you’ll contribute:
The Endoscopy Associate assists the physician and RN in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prepares and maintains the endoscopy equipment, Adheres to Adventhealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, State and Federal agencies and accrediting bodies, transports the patient, actively participates in outstanding customer service, assists in patient care delivery under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Provides safe, clean, tested and inspected items by performing decontamination and high-level disinfection/ Sterilization according to manufacture instructions
Maintains records on scope and instrumentation maintenance
Prepares patients for procedures under the direction of registered nurse
Identifies recording errors/artifacts and reacts appropriately
Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each individual endoscopy procedure
Under direct supervision of Physician and RN, instills medication via scopes
Utilizes knowledge of video system equipment. Troubleshoots problems with the system as needed
Follows Adventhealth policy and procedures
Follows standard of practice according to Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA)
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Grad or Equiv
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Certified Surgical Technician, OR SGNA – GI Technical Specialist (GTS), OR SGNA – Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS)
