Position Summary

Phoenix Children’s Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking board eligible/board certified physicians to join our growing team.
The Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition at Phoenix Children’s is the largest pediatric gastroenterology program in the State of Arizona. The group includes 20 board certified gastroenterologists, 5 nurse practitioners, 8 nutritionists, a GI psychologist, and 10 registered nurses. We currently cover five satellite clinics, as well as the inpatient gastroenterology and hepatology services at Phoenix Children’s. Our patient population comprises a diverse ethnic background and has a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver pathology ranging from common to complex conditions. In addition to therapeutic/interventional endoscopy, additional programs include fully equipped and staffed endoscopy suites, a gastrointestinal Motility Disorders Program, a multidisciplinary IBD Program, close collaboration with the Cystic Fibrosis Center, Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Disorders Clinic, an Aerodigestive and Feeding Disorders Program, and a multidisciplinary Colorectal Center.
Members of the Division participate in all aspects of teaching in our pediatric residency program. We are the major pediatric teaching program for the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, as well as the new Mayo Clinic Medical School Phoenix Campus. Academic appointments are available from the University of Arizona, Mayo Clinic and Creighton University. Our physicians are involved in research related to eosinophilic disorders, feeding disorders, aerodigestive disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. We have an ACGME approved GI fellowship with 2 fellows, with an additional 2 fellows starting in summer of 2023.

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the PCH mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.

Education

• MD or DO degree. (Required)

Certifications

• Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or the ability to obtain prior to start date. (Required)
• Board certified/Board Eligible in the appropriate specialty. (Required)

Special Skills

• The ability to move freely from facility to facility, as well as, the ability to move freely throughout facilities and examine patients. (Required)
• The ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other communication devices. (Required)
• The ability to perform after hours or night call responsibilities as needed. (Required)
• The ability to work regularly scheduled work hours. (Required)
• The ability to work well under pressure. (Required)
