Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a BC/BE Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist to join our world-renowned GI Department. The practice site for these positions includes opportunity primarily at our main campus in downtown Seattle as well as at our Regional Medical Centers in the suburbs of Seattle.
Our tertiary care hospital more recently merged with CHI Franciscan, an integrated health system with access to more than 300 care sites and 11 hospitals in western Washington. Our Virginia Mason downtown Seattle facility will be the hub of specialized and subspecialized gastrointestinal care, and a consistently top therapeutic practice in the PNW region. We are expanding our gastrointestinal service line accordingly and will be expanding not only operationally but in terms of our academic presence and existing centers of excellence. We have a long-established therapeutic endoscopy fellowship program with opportunities for teaching, training, and clinical research. Additionally we have started a general gastroenterology 3-year fellowship program in 2024.
Excellent opportunity with primary focus on caring for complex GI patients in a collegial team environment with superb support staff, and easy access to a strong diagnostic and interventional radiology group, fellow medical and surgical specialists. We currently have four therapeutic endoscopists and dedicated APPs supporting the inpatient and outpatient practices. The GI Section has a new state-of-the-art endoscopy procedure floor in the new medical center, adjacent to the current hospital, and adjacent to interventional radiology.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional and experienced clinician with excellent communication and team building skills with a strong commitment to patient and team-centered care. The ideal candidate will also have the motivation to build a practice. Preference given for candidates interested in teaching, research activities, and team-oriented medicine. The ideal candidate will also support our innovative process improvement work with its focus on improving the patient experience, eliminating waste and transforming healthcare; an integral part of the Virginia Mason culture. Leadership experience is not required, though leadership opportunities are available.
