The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, has an immediate opening for two full-time, board certified/board eligible Gastroenterologists. The Shreveport-Bossier City area is home to Barksdale Air Force Base, as well as numerous colleges and universities, theaters, lakes, golf courses, beautiful housing areas, churches, and great schools. Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our Veterans. Highlights of this position include:
Competitive Starting Salary $300,000-$375,000
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm., may be required to work unscheduled hours in case of an emergency or when on call (Call shared with other staff Gastroenterologists)
Possess basic endoscopic skills and have a background and interest in clinical/research participation. IBD, ERCP and EUS skills are highly desired.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy, including: bleeding control, polypectomy, EMR, PEGs, and dilation.
Work closely with all health care professionals throughout the medical center and provide consultation to other services
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
Additional Requirements:
Board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology
Must be proficient in all basic GI Endoscopy procedures included EGD and colonoscopy
Must qualify for an academic appointment at LSU School of Medicine
ACLS is recommended
